Today, the nation is celebrating Give Like Dolly Day — a new annual tradition created to honor Dolly’s generous heart and her lifelong commitment to children.

Give Like Dolly Day is an opportunity to turn your love of literacy into action by giving back to little readers in our community, just as Dolly did throughout her life.

Celebrate Dolly at special children's storytimes at your local library branch for 9 to 5 Dolly Day with the Memphis Public Libraries!

Libraries will read books from Porter-Leath's Books from Birth program and have activities related to the stories.

Visit memphis.librarycalendar.com and search DOLLY to find your nearest participating library.

The date, 9/25, gives us a simple way to honor Dolly's  legacy by giving $9.25 a month to support local readers. Or give a one-time gift of $25, which provides a child with a year's worth of books mailed to their home.

Over 30,000 Shelby County children receive books each month and you can help ensure the books continue to be delivered.

Give online at porterleath.org/dolly or text DOLLYP to 50155.

Help inspire a love of reading in children by ordering your Dolly Parton Tennessee License Plate. $15 of each plate will be donated to your local Imagination Library here at Porter-Leath!

See the county clerk's office to purchase your new license plate.

Is your group celebrating Dolly Day in a special way? Will you and your child be reading an Imagination Library book in honor of Dolly?
