September is World Alzheimer's Month |
This year’s World Alzheimer’s Month theme from Alzheimer’s Disease International is: “The Earlier You Know, The More You Can Do: A Dementia Diagnosis Matters”.
At Alzheimer Durham, we know that a diagnosis can help connect you to the treatment, education, care and support you need. But we also know that many people still hesitate to seek help because of the stigma associated with dementia.
This month through a variety of initiatives, we hope to raise awareness and bring our community together to help shift those perceptions of dementia. Funds raised throughout the month will allow us to continue advocating for and supporting people in our community who are living with dementia. |
