At the beginning of 2025, I set a goal that felt both exciting and a little daunting: to serve 1,500 children and teens through Foster Together in a single year—more than we ever had before. Thanks to an extraordinary community of donors, corporate partners, volunteers, and supporters, we didn’t just reach that goal—we surpassed it! We're excited to share some of the amazing accomplishments we've achieved in the last year - each number representing a child who was seen, valued, and supported during a moment of real need and I'm deeply grateful for each person who made this possible.

This year also challenged us to slow down, ask harder questions, and listen more closely. As we spent time with child welfare professionals and caregivers, we heard a consistent message: families need support that is relational, practical, and timely. In response, we strengthened existing efforts and launched new ones—including Together at Home, a program designed to support birth parents who are at risk of losing their children to foster care or who are working toward reunification. We also launched Friends in Fostering mentorship program, connecting new foster parents with experienced peers who understand the realities of foster care and can offer encouragement, guidance, and hope. Together, these programs reflect our deepening commitment to strengthening connections for kids by supporting the adults who care for them.

2025 was one for the record books - serving more children from more zip codes and more counties, than ever before! Below is a brief overview "by the numbers" - but we hope you'll take a minute to review our full report by clicking here. 

We are deeply grateful for Kat Johnson and her extraordinary heart for children and families in our community.

Through her company, Top Key Properties, she demonstrates remarkable generosity with an annual Mission Month, where she encourages her community to give back. Each November since 2022, she has led a $1-for-$1 matching campaign up to $5,000, contributing an incredible $20,000 over the last four years to Foster Together to help meet the growing needs of the foster care community, in addition to inspiring additional giving from our community. In 2025 alone, her matching grant helped us raise over $16,000!

Her commitment goes far beyond financial generosity. Kat is also a founding member of Foster Together’s Young Professionals Board, where she gives her time, talent, and insightful leadership to further our mission.

We are incredibly thankful for Kat’s willingness to use her voice, her influence, and her heart to champion children and families impacted by foster care. Because of Kat’s leadership, more children and families are reminded that they are not alone—that an entire community sees them and is standing with them.
