In a city full of beautiful buildings, parks, and other sights, Jackson Square is one of the most striking. This National Historic Landmark, about the size of a city block, is centered on a statue of President Andrew Jackson placed there in 1815. It’s fronted on all sides by gorgeous buildings, including the stunning and historic St. Louis Cathedral (the inside of which is just as magnificent). The area is full of shops and restaurants, including the legendary Café du Monde.
