Recovery continues across the Texas Hill Country following the July 2026 floods. The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is working with trusted nonprofit partners to help families, homeowners and small businesses recover.
This work is supported through the Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Fund, along with eligible resources from the 2025 Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. Together, these resources are helping communities address immediate needs while building toward long-term recovery. |

Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country Announces $18 Million Commitment to 2026 Flood Recovery |
The Community Foundation announced an $18 million commitment to support communities affected by the July floods, committing to support emergency financial assistance, case management, housing recovery and small business recovery across the Texas Hill Country. This investment builds on the partnerships and recovery efforts established following the 2025 floods, allowing trusted organizations already working across the region to respond quickly to new and ongoing needs.
Recovery investments are focused on four priorities: - Emergency Financial Assistance: $1.7 million committed through four trusted nonprofit partners to help flood-affected families address urgent needs.

Housing Recovery: An additional $11.3 million committed to housing support in Kerr County, with additional resources secured for families in the Uvalde area.
- Small Business Assistance: A $5 million grant to LiftFund to help flood-affected businesses recover, reopen and remain part of the local economy.
- Long-Term Recovery: Continued investment in mental health, disaster case management, nonprofit coordination, emergency preparedness and other emerging needs.

Why Emergency Financial Assistance Matters |
Emergency financial assistance is a critical first step in long-term recovery. In the days and weeks after a disaster, families often face urgent expenses while they wait for insurance, government assistance and longer-term recovery programs to become available. Flexible financial support can help households meet immediate needs, maintain stability and make the decisions that are right for their families. By partnering with trusted local nonprofits to provide this assistance, the Community Foundation helps create a bridge from immediate relief to the housing, case management and other resources families may need to recover.
The systems supported by the Community Foundation over the past year have expanded access to disaster case management, mental health services and coordinated nonprofit support across the community. These resources are helping Hill Country residents access assistance and take the next steps toward recovery. |

Catholic Charities San Antonio
Catholic Charities San Antonio is helping families in the Uvalde area affected by the July floods access immediate support, including temporary housing, counseling, legal services and other assistance based on individual needs. Through the Community Foundation's partnership with Catholic Charities, we are extend recovery resources to as many affected households as possible. Hill Country Family Services
With deep roots and a track record of success, Hill Country Family Services strengthens community-based support and connects families with trusted resources as they move forward in recovery. The organization received a grant from the Community Foundation to provide emergency financial assistance to Bandera and Kendall county flood-affected households. |
