Colorado physicians help shape national policy at AMA Annual Meeting |
Colorado physicians, residents and medical students helped shape national policy at the American Medical Association Annual Meeting in Chicago June 5-9, where the AMA House of Delegates debated priorities affecting patients and the practice of medicine. Delegates from Colorado hold several national leadership positions, and the House passed a resolution from Colorado opposing use of the term “provider” when referring to physicians. All Colorado physicians are encouraged to reach out to Delegation members or CMS by emailing [email protected] to share your policy priorities for the AMA.

Join the Rural Health Care Forum, a member exclusive on CMS.org |
Rural physicians face unique challenges delivering care and bring extraordinary dedication to your patients, communities, and colleagues every day. To help support and connect physicians in rural settings, the Colorado Medical Society is launching a Rural Health Care Forum.
This online forum is designed as a space to connect with peers who understand the realities of practicing in rural settings. Ask questions, post open positions, share experiences, and exchange practical insights with others navigating similar challenges.
Whether considering a move to rural medicine, looking for advice on local issues, peer support, or a way to stay connected with physicians in your region, this forum is for all. We also hope members will use it to surface common challenges and collaborate on solutions that strengthen rural health care across the state.
Practicing in a rural setting can feel isolating at times. This forum is intended to help bridge that distance, build community, and remind members that you’re not alone in this work. Please join us.
Not a rural physician? We hope to launch forums to connect other communities of physicians. Do you have an idea for a forum? Reach out to [email protected]. |

Honoring the patient-physician relationship this Men's Health Month |
This Men's Health Month, we’re honoring the power of lasting relationships between physicians and patients. 80 percent of patients agree that one's relationship with their physician isn't just a one-time visit–it’s a lifelong relationship. Providing people with the care they need to live healthy and prosperous lives is at the heart of why physicians choose medicine.
The El Paso County Medical Society held a Men's Health panel discussion with CME examining how cardiovascular risk, urologic health, and primary care strategy intersect in real-world practice. Access this on-demand session and claim CME through the members-only enduring materials library here.

New MGMA data shows physician pay growth—What it means for Colorado physicians |
|
| |
|
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) has released its latest physician compensation report—one of the most widely used benchmarks by hospital systems and large medical groups when determining pay. According to the new data, physician compensation has risen 14 percent over the past four years. While that signals strong overall growth, it also raises a key concern: some physicians may now be underpaid relative to current market standards without realizing it.
Having this data can help physicians negotiate a raise or plan for their next role. Panacea Legal has put together an article to help physicians know how to interact with MGMA data. 👉 Read the article: Check it out here »
For physicians with questions about compensation trends or upcoming contracts, Panacea Legal also offers one-on-one guidance. 👉 Schedule a free consultation: Book here » |
