Paw-sitive Pet Adoption 🐾

At our recent Paw-sitive Pet Adoption Event, participants experienced joy, comfort, and connection through the companionship of robotic pets provided in partnership with Humana and Joy for All Companion Pets.

What may seem like a simple interaction created meaningful moments of happiness, emotional support, and connection for those we serve. This event was a beautiful example of how innovation and compassionate partnerships can enhance well-being in powerful ways.

VFW Day of Service Kitting Event 🎖️

Volunteers of America of Florida partnered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars for a special kitting event dedicated to supporting veterans in need across our communities. Volunteers and partners worked side by side to assemble essential kits filled with critical items that provide comfort, dignity, and immediate support.

This event served as a powerful reminder that caring for veterans extends far beyond words. It takes action, partnership, and compassion.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, initiatives like this continue to make a real difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Women Who Win Habitat for Humanity Build 💛🛠️

VOAF was honored to take part in a Habitat for Humanity build event alongside the inspiring women nominated for the 2026 Women Who Win Awards by Tampa Bay Business & Wealth Magazine.

Because of a shared commitment to service, moments like this are possible where women leaders came together with Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough to help build safe, stable homes for local families. We were honored to volunteer at the 2026 Dave & Jan Vosen Memorial Golf Tournament alongside our partners at Corinne’s Food Pantry.

U.S. Representative Kathy Castor Congressional Youth Cabinet Mock Hearing on Housing Affordability in Tampa Bay 🏛️

VOAF was honored to participate in the Congressional Youth Cabinet Mock Hearing, where students examined solutions to housing affordability challenges in Tampa Bay.

Thanks to the continued investment and commitment of our community of donors and partners, VOAF leaders are able to contribute expertise in spaces like these, helping inform the next generation while advancing conversations around housing and community needs. Our President & CEO, Janet Stringfellow, served as an expert panelist, sharing insights on the realities of housing insecurity and the importance of collaborative solutions.

Members of the VOAF team joined community leaders, nonprofit partners, and supporters at the Inspire Gala hosted by the Community Foundation Ocala Marion County, an evening dedicated to celebrating the generosity and collaboration that strengthen Marion County.
