Founded in 1897, this family-owned nursery has been part of the Hill Country landscape for generations.
Erin Wofford and her husband returned home to help run the business, supplying trees to landscapers, ranchers and homeowners across the region.
When the July flood hit, the damage struck the nursery’s lifeline. The industrial pumps that draw river water for irrigation were buried under debris and the electrical systems were destroyed.
“We were out of water for three months at the nursery.”
Repairs were urgent and costly, with pump damage alone estimated around $50,000. With planting paused across the region and recovery underway, the financial strain grew quickly.
Support from LiftFund, in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, helped stabilize operations so the nursery could continue serving the community and supporting restoration efforts along the river.
After more than a century in the Hill Country, the mission remains clear:
“We want to help rebuild our own river and help everybody up and down the river.”
