New Colorado disease reporting amendments clarify provider and laboratory responsibilities |
The Colorado State Board of Health approved amendments to 6 CCR 1009-1: Epidemic and Communicable Disease Control regulation in January 2026. Those changes officially took effect March 17, 2026. The amendments are focused on clarifying disease reporting roles, methods, and time frames, as well as adding language that defines and encourages reporting via electronic methods. CDPHE has revised their disease reporting webpage and made available reporting posters.
