Florida Dream Center's Adopt-a-Clause Event

VOAF was proud to join FLDC’s Adopt-a-Block initiative, a program that began in 2014 in Lealman to bring vital services directly into high-need areas of Pinellas County. What started with 40 food boxes and neighborhood cleanups has grown into a volunteer-driven effort that provides food, home repairs, code violation relief, debris removal, and outreach services each week.

Adopt-a-Block strengthens communities, supports seniors aging in place, assists at-risk residents, and helps keep neighborhoods safer and cleaner for all.

Miami Flywheel Event

Miami Flywheel brought energy and generosity together by assembling 145 boxes of hygiene and cleaning supplies for veterans in our program. This hands-on effort helps ensure those we serve have the essentials needed for safe, healthy living, while showing the power of community support in action. 

Christian TV Network Bay Focus Interview

Janet Stringfellow and Zelda O'Connell recently appeared on Christian Television Network’s Bay Focus to share more about the mission and impact of VOAF and FLDC. During the interview, they highlighted the programs strengthening families, veterans, and seniors across our communities, and discussed how partnership and service continue to drive meaningful change.

Pensacola DeepWater City Elks Lodge #751 Donates Meat 

DeepWater City Elks Lodge #751 made a meaningful impact at VOAF Pensacola by donating 200 lbs. of ground beef along with canned and dry goods. Their generosity helps ensure those we serve have access to nourishing meals and feel the support of their community. 

Lealman Honey and Arts Festival

VOAF was excited to attend the Lealman Honey and Arts Festival, connecting with neighbors and community partners while sharing more about our programs and services. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local creativity, strengthen relationships, and engage with the Lealman community we proudly serve. 

TBBW Video Recording

Janet recently filmed with the Tampa Bay Business & Wealth Magazine team, sharing her passion for service and the life-changing work happening at VOAF. She spoke about the impact our programs have on veterans, families, and seniors across Florida and the power of community in creating lasting change. We are excited to see the final video premiere at the TBBW 2026 Women Who Win Gala. ✨

DRI Volunteers Bring Impact to Life

Volunteers from the conference and the DRI Foundation spent the day giving back with VOAF, rolling up their sleeves to landscape, paint, and organize spaces across the campus. The highlight of the day came from connecting with residents during a lively game of Bingo, reminding us that meaningful impact is built through both service and shared moments. 💙

Exquisite Corpse Games

The Exquisite Corpse Games brought artists and community members together in a powerful display of creativity and collaboration. Through this unique experience, participants created a one-of-a-kind work of art while supporting the mission of Volunteers of America of Florida. Moments like this highlight how community partnerships and creativity can come together to inspire hope and make a meaningful impact. 

Swing Fore Heroes was a tremendous success, bringing together supporters, sponsors, and community leaders for a day of golf with purpose. Thanks to everyone who attended, we raised critical support to help restore the Ritz Veterans Village and serve veterans in need.

We are deeply grateful to every golfer, volunteer, and partner who made the day possible. Your participation turned friendly competition into meaningful impact, and we could not have done it without you. 💙⛳
