December invites us to pause, breathe, and truly take in the goodness around us. As I look back on this past year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the generosity that pours out of this incredible community.

When we asked for your help last month to support Foster Together’s mission for the coming year, you didn’t just respond — you showed up in a way that exceeded every expectation. Thanks to you, we not only met our $5,000 matching challenge from Top Key Properties, but together we raised an astounding $16,187 to support children in foster care, kinship care, at-risk families, and families working toward reunification. We are genuinely humbled.

As we contemplate this Christmas season, celebrating the greatest gift of all through the birth of Jesus, I’m reminded again of the many ways you, too, are a gift. Your compassion, and willingness to put action behind your empathy make a difference that reaches far beyond the immediate needs. Because of your support, more children across St. Louis are experiencing hope, joy, and love — perhaps for the very first time.

We can't say it enough, thank you. You are a blessing to this community, and we are so grateful you've chosen to walk alongside us in this mission.

When Erin Watson first learned about Foster Together, she felt an immediate pull to get involved. The organization’s mission—to support children in foster care right here in Missouri—resonated deeply. “My heart breaks for what these kids have to go through,” she says. “It’s truly unimaginable.”

That compassion quickly turned into action. Erin believes that meaningful change doesn’t require grand gestures—just willingness. A piece of advice from a close friend has stayed with her: it takes just one person, one positive moment or influence, to alter the trajectory of a child’s future.

Grounded in her faith, Erin sees giving as both a responsibility and a source of true joy. She credits God’s blessings in her family and business for teaching her that fulfillment comes from helping others. She encourages others to give through countless drives and donations through her business, Emerge Design Studio.

“Our children are the community’s responsibility,” she says, pointing to Psalm 82: “Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; rescue the weak and the needy.”

For Erin, supporting Foster Together is a way to live out that calling—and to stand in the gap for children who need it most. We're so grateful for her ongoing support and partnership with Foster Together!
