Your support in action this week: 

In the wake of the July 4 floods, neighbors across the Hill Country continue to show up for one another. Here’s a quick look at what your support is making possible.

• In the first six weeks of the rebuilding program, 3 homes are complete, 16 are under construction and 58 more are in the pre-construction phase.
• More than 400 households are actively working with case managers to navigate assistance, repairs and long-term recovery planning.

• 108 households are in temporary housing (Airbnb or rental homes) funded by the Community Foundation.

• 27 disaster case managers are now working alongside flood-impacted families.

Matt’s Story: Finding stability after the storm

After six feet of floodwater swept through his Kerrville home on July 4, Matt Meagher and his family lost everything.

Matt shares how support from the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country helped him find safe, furnished temporary housing through the Flood Relief Fund.

“We’re very grateful as a community and us personally,” Matt says.

The Needs Assessment was launched on August 4, 2025, to understand what households impacted by the floods need most to recover. Community members shared information about housing damage, financial challenges, health needs, and other impacts. These results help guide how recovery resources are allocated and ensure assistance matches real needs.
