Hello Friend,
June is National Indigenous History Month, and on June 21st, we're honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day. It’s a time to celebrate the rich histories, cultures and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples across Canada.
At True North Aid, we are marking this month with reflection and action, guided by our shared responsibility to truth and reconciliation. We invite you to join us. Here’s how we’re engaging and how you can too:
Listen and Learn Explore podcasts and community events that amplify Indigenous voices.
Support Indigenous-led Work Donate, volunteer, or shop from Indigenous-owned businesses and organizations making change.
Take Action Reflect on how your work or community can align with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
Celebrate Indigenous Creators Share the work of Indigenous artists, storytellers, and knowledge keepers on your platforms. We'll be sharing our favourites on social media in June - check it out!
Get Involved Whether you attend a local pow wow, learn whose land you live on, or simply listen to a new story, your engagement matters.
Support Northern and Remote Indigenous Communities
Your support helps us to deliver urgently needed aid like educational resources, critical baby supplies and more. Learn more about how your donation makes a difference by visiting our website at www.truenorthaid.ca.
Wishing you a Happy Indigenous Peoples Day and Indigenous History Month! From the Team at True North Aid |

Canada By Canoe - A Fundraiser for True North Aid
|
Canada by Canoe is more than an expedition—it’s a mission to inspire, explore, and make a difference. This record-breaking 8,000+ km journey across Canada is being undertaken to raise funds and awareness for True North Aid, in 2026. Led by three passionate adventurers—Will, Georges, and Nolan—this journey combines a love of the outdoors with a commitment to creating a real, lasting impact.
From the Atlantic to the Pacific, this 200+ day expedition will connect Canadians through a shared purpose: supporting communities in need. |

If you’re looking for a way to support remote communities, consider collecting supplies or donating—every contribution makes a difference. We've had individuals, service groups, and businesses collect over 8,806lbs of goods since launching this program in 2024. However, the need is great: we have over 14 communities waiting to be matched. Please consider supporting this initiative today!
