OUR FY24 ANNUAL REPORT IS HERE |
We’re excited to share our FY24 Annual Report, reflecting on the stories, data, and milestones from our July 2023–June 2024 project year. This report showcases the incredible progress we’ve made together and the remarkable impact we’ve had, demonstrating what’s possible when we unite for health, rights, and gender equality. In FY24, EngenderHealth and our partners made a life-changing difference: - Averted an estimated 2 million unintended pregnancies
-
Prevented about 2,100 maternal deaths and 676,800 unsafe abortions
- Served over 1.2 million people with contraceptive care
These numbers represent real lives—mothers who survived childbirth, babies who took their first breath, and individuals who now have the freedom to make decisions about their health and futures.
As we were finalizing the report, we faced the immediate impact of an executive order freezing foreign aid and dismantling USAID, an agency that funded 52% of our work last year. Lifesaving programs were suddenly halted, and the consequences have been significant.
Yet, we remain resolute in our mission, focused on the incredible potential we have to continue transforming lives and advancing health, rights, and gender equality together. |

MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics: Legacy Resources Now Available
MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics, an EngenderHealth-led initiative funded by USAID, made significant strides in improving surgical safety for maternal health and voluntary family planning. By promoting evidence-based approaches, testing innovations, and scaling proven practices, the program helped change lives, just like Josephine’s.
However, the program was terminated early in 2025 as part of the global dismantling of USAID-supported programs. As a result, the project’s website and all its valuable resources were taken offline. In response, our team acted quickly to preserve these critical materials. Today, we are proud to offer access to these legacy tools, ensuring the project’s work continues to inform, support, and strengthen future efforts to improve maternal health and family planning.
