Threats to Medicaid funding demands action |
Budget challenges at the state level and threats of cuts at the federal level have stirred up great uncertainty around Medicaid funding. These federal threats could deeply affect state budgets and may even prompt a special session in Colorado. The Colorado Medical Society has been active in voicing support to save Medicaid funding, joining other state and national specialty societies.
One coalition CMS recently is the Protect Our Healthcare Coalition, which launched a nationwide peer-to-peer texting campaign that calls on physicians and other providers to use a template system to message congressional representatives. Read more about this campaign and join the effort here.
For additional information on the federal cuts from the state's perspective, take a few minutes to read through resources on the Impact of Federal Funding Cuts to Medicaid webpage by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), which oversees Colorado Medicaid. |
