Abel,* who recently started coming to our Food Pantry, arrived with two friends who only spoke Portuguese. While Abel helped his friends work with our staff to sign up for food assistance, he shed light on the dire need for food in their homes. "I'm happy to help my friends get the support they need. Thanks to your Food Pantry, getting food is much easier for us now," Abel shared. This act of solidarity emphasizes the growing need for our help, which is also evident in the significant increase in new clients at our Food Pantry.

In March alone, 39 new households signed up for our Food Pantry, reflecting a growing trend of individuals and families turning to us for help. Our Food Pantry has also been averaging over 1,700 visits a month. This startling trend we've witnessed locally highlights the urgency and widespread nature of food insecurity in our community. As Abel put it, "...the need for food is real, and it doesn’t get easier on top of rising costs."
Thankfully, with supporters like you, we can help families and individuals like Abel and his friends with groceries. This assistance allowed them to put food on their table. "In the past, we struggled to put food on the table," Abel shared, "but now, with the help you give, we can use our money to pay for other things like rent and utilities." This sentiment echoes throughout our community, reflecting the relief and empowerment that comes from receiving food assistance.
